Hello everyone! Tonight is the last final of the tennis so I will be back with most posts after today. Unfortunately i’ve decided to extend the tutorial request date to the 21st of March which is the day of my medical admission exam. I really need to concentrate on my studies for this final month and a half since it determines what i’ll do for the rest of my life… that’s a lot of pressure! Also, i’ve updated the deco cream page to include a road test of how the modelling cream has held up over the past month.

Anyway, to the tart tutorial!

Recently my favourite bag brand Hayden-Harnett went on massive sale and it reminded me of my desire to own a unbearably cute weekender bag. Unfortunately the massive sale meant I had to choose between buying my dream weekender or buying my dream large-medium sized shoulder bag. I choose the latter, which means I do not have my cute dream weekender, and on top of that the Toulouse is weekender is now 60% off… but out of the fabric I want. Shopping around I found that decent weekend bags were actually around $150, which I felt was too expensive. So therefore, I have decided to make my own big weekender bag! I bought some cute apple canvas fabric (cost $49 for 1.75m) and some floral cotton for lining (more expensive than it should have been!). Construction started a few days ago with the pattern drafting, measuring and the checking, double checking and triple checking. Now I just need to put it together. Sewing is not my strong point but wish me luck!

Meanwhile I did recently sew a bucket bag to get my sewing juices flowing.

This is a post on making fruits for your pies, waffles, tarts, anything! I’m going to link to this page from the other tutorials. Also, it’s going to be a work in progress because fruits are quite time consuming to make so i’ll add to this as time goes on.

Ok so I felt bad for leaving a pie tutorial until after the 31st so here it is. I’ve been having a blast watching the tennis and January is arguably my favourite month because of it. Last night I got to watch the Belgian former no.1 Justine Henin play in her comeback tournament so my life is pretty complete now. Anyway i’ve got a fruit tart tutorial coming up later because i’m not sure if my request was for a pie or a tart, so I made both in case.

Tennis season has started guys. I tried to get the pie tutorial done before the tennis season but I was busy with study. I don’t think i’ve ever actually said what i’m studying for so I think I should explain haha. I’m trying to get into medical school for 2011 and the medical admission exams is in March so i’m on a tight schedule! My holidays so far have involved study in the day and making clay sculptures and deco at night to keep me sane from study, but since tennis season has started the clay and deco will be replaced by tennis watching. Tennis season ends 31st of January so i’ll be back in full swing then. Until then the posts will be slow i’m sorry!

Anyway here is a sweets deco mirror I did recently. I made it with the modelling paste I talked about last post, and i’ll be doing a road test of how it holds up. This way you guys can decide whether you want to use modelling paste for things that are handled a lot, like phones and mirrors.

So until the 31st everyone!
