Right now i’m working on roll cakes, some fruits charlottes and playing the new Professor Layton game that came out. It’s been busy! I love how these roll cakes turned out, i’ve got mocha, strawberry and matcha ones, and I think my favourite are the matcha ones
. Actually I think they look funny, they look kind of like little cakes with a cream hair combover with a little strawberry or sakura hairclip! Because of that i’ve decided that i’m going to make some coffee bean hairclips, I think it would be pretty cute!
The only headache I have is what to put these things on, do you guys think it’s a better idea to make one of each type of jewellery with these, or to just put them on one thing? It’s such a headache!
These fruit Charlottes just need to be browned and dabbed with icing sugar on top. These take a very long time!
Anyway on a slightly random note, i’ve got an issue with commenting on Blogger blogs. Since I have a WordPress blog, if I comment with OpenID then my name just comes up as ‘hikaria.com’ and I don’t get that cute avatar thing showing up either. Choosing the ‘WordPress’ option does the same thing, and those are the only two options I have! Grr. For now i’m going to comment with my Blogger google profile, but unfortunately the link doesn’t automatically go to my website, does anyone have any solutions for me?
Also I promised Beccy a while ago that i’d show some of my toy cam photos, so i’ve got them after the jump. Sorry Beccy for forgetting! If you’re not interested in toy cam photography, you can at least see one of my favourite plush toys
.
Same old, same old… i’ve been sculpting heaps so I can get that market stall up! I’ve been making lots of breads and stuff but they’re not done yet, but i’ve got these strawberry and mocha opera cakes to show!
They just need to dry and then I can put headpins in them.
Apart from this I haven’t got much sculpting news, so I decided i’ll do a mini beauty product review. I only chose the items that you can get on Sasa so you guys won’t be like ‘damn I want but I can’t get it
‘. See I am constantly thinking of you guys :p. Take a look after the jump.
IT’S DONE!! YES! I’ve finished my Japan guide, please check it out and I hope it helps you guys or at least you guys enjoy reading it
. Also, someone has requested strawberry and banana slice tutorials, i’ll be doing them when I run out of banana and strawberry slices and I need to make them again. Personally I actually hate making them and i’d avoid it at any cost. They are incredibly tedious and annoying, especially the bananas.
I’ve been doing a hell of a lot of sculpting lately because my friends have convinced me to open a market stall. It’s a bit of a far off plan for me right now, but I definitely needed stock above anything else if I was going to do that, so i’ve been sculpting a lot to make up stock for any sort of market stall I might be opening. I’ve got more pictures of what i’ve been up to after the jump:
Finally granting someone’s wish for a bow tute
. I love bows, but I hate making them! They’re really fiddly and hard to get right, but they look really good and they’re beautiful on items. There are lots of different ways to make bows, in fact I used to make them differently and you might see that they look a bit different on my older items. I wasn’t very happy with my old bows, so I modified the way I make them, but in doing so i’ve made it even harder for myself!
Anyway, my with my rant about bow-making over, let’s move on to the tutorial:
Phew, i’m finally getting close to finishing the Japan guide! I’m surprised and happy at myself haha… although today I finished writing one, then the computer crashed and WordPress only autosaved the title! So I rage quit for the night, otherwise I might’ve been finished by now. Grr! Also, I do have a ribbon bow tutorial coming up, stay tuned!
I made some fruit tarts, once again out of air dry clay. This time it’s a combination of Cosmos and Grace clay, Cosmos being a stiffer, more opaque version of Grace. I keep forgetting to put these things up on my Etsy page! I really need to remember. I don’t know what to attach these to though, they seem a bit garish for necklaces… what do you think?
I’ve got more pictures after the jump – and a little sneak peak of my workplace:
