I went to Japan in early July which I have been told is super hot and also rainy season. They were both right. Especially in Kyoto, the weather was either insanely hot (and I am from 40C Australia) or pouring rain. I found it really difficult to go on some of the day trips in Kyoto because of how hot it is and I did start feeling quite sick from heat. On the other hand i’ve also been to Japan in late November/December, it was really cold but I much preferred that.

A note on directions:  so… I haven’t really included them for anything because honest to God, I have no idea how I found half these places myself and in fact even some of the more ‘obvious’ places like, say, a freakin’ 6 or so floor Loft shop in Shibuya completed eluded me even though it turned out to be huge. I’ve tried to include some ‘helpful’ tips on how to find things for some of the harder to find places, but the way David and I went around Japan was to ask every convenience store where something was, then walk in that general direction and then ask another convenience store until we found it. They’re quite nice about it, and David understood zero Japanese and we still found our way around.

Lastly, I have to admit, I have been the worst blogger on earth. I went to Japan and totally forgot that I was supposed to take a photo of everything I planned on blogging about, instead I was too busy um… shopping lol. So, a lot of these photos I took from my friends (explains why they look so bad… haha kidding! kidding!) and thank you friends for actually being on the ball and taking photos! I owe you one :) .
